Shanti Powa is an Italian reggae band formed in 2010 in Bolzano, known for unique music style and powerful live shows. The name Shanti Powa combines shanti (meaning peace) and powa (meaning power), reflecting their message of unity, peace, and resistance. Their music mixes reggae with elements of dub, ska, rap, rock, funk and electronic influences, often addressing themes of social justice and empowerment. Shanti Powa’s high-energy live shows and conscious lyrics have earned them a loyal following in Italy and across Europe. The band has released 4 studio albums & numerous singles. Their 4th album “Dreamer” was produced by London based Producer Gaudi. Their last single “Opportunity” is a featuring with “Faith Mussa”, an internationally known musician from Malawi. Herbert Pixner is a South Tyrolean musician known for his work across various genres, including folk, jazz, classical, and contemporary music. He founded the Herbert Pixner Project in 2005, which has toured extensively in prestigious venues across Europe. Pixner has collaborated with many notable artists and orchestras, and his projects blend traditional Alpine music with modern influences. He has received several awards, including the “Stern” from the Münchener Abendzeitung, and has been nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award. In addition to music, he has worked on theatres, TV shows, and film scores. His latest projects include the Symphonic Alps tour and the album From the Dark Side of the Alps (2024). The new single Box is a collaboration between Italian 10 piece Big Band Shanti Powa & the world-famous maestro of accordion Herbert Pixner. The song is a powerful fusion of World Music, Ska, Gipsy & Punk with lyrics in Italian & English. Box talks about the beauty of individuality and diversity and about not being categorised. The song is against any form of judgement, about believing in yourself and being proud of who you are. Also, about helping others and learning from failures.
