From the incredible opening of ‘Nighttime Is Almost Here’, which conjures up an expectation of fear and foreboding, the album takes you through a maze of textures and stories that will resonate with audiences who expect the very finest in musicianship from the word go. Tracks such as ‘Heartaches and Troubles’ serve as the perfect lounge tribute, with strings that speak to the Rat Pack and a downtempo beat making it dark and alluring at the same time. That theme continues as the album meanders through waves of melancholy with the notable blues influenced ‘Just Before Dawn’ announcing the light of the day.
