What better way to kick off my 37th birthday than a surprise music project?! PurpDon sent me this album of perplexing and throwback instrumentals and I decided to approach this batch of beats with the experimental and haphazard energy of a mixtape. I found a creative freedom in allowing myself to lean into the chaos and eccentricity in the beats with my own sense for those expressions as well. Once I started them, all of these songs came together relatively quickly and were written and recorded in a lightning-quick burst of inspiration in a playful sense of abandon that I learned a lot while doing the typewritten poetry commissions with “write through me” the past few years. “I Rap The Body Electric!” is a nod to a story collection “I Sing The Body Electric” by one of my favorite authors, Ray Bradbury, whose ebullient brilliance is quoted throughout the “W is For Writer” interlude. Go read his work. Louis Navas made a perfectly alien and abstract cover that fit my desire to fuse the Yes album covers by Roger Dean, with the vintage sci-fi cover aesthetic of Bradbury’s heyday. I hope you enjoy this whimsical and wild project. Endlessly grateful that you’re a generous part of my journey. -AllOne credits released March 26, 2025 Lyrics written and performed by Bruce “AllOne” Pandolfo Beats produced by PurpDon Recorded, mixed and mastered by Daveer Mohan at The Magnolia Room Album art by Louis Navas (www.theofficiallouisnavas.com) Special thanks to The Swiftwater Collective in Lackawaxen, PA for providing a space to make progress on some of these songs.
