“Occam’s Razor” is Calcei’s second in a series of one producer albums following 2023’s “Groundworks” with Pimpernel Jones.
The album reunites Calcei and long time Detroit collaborator producer/emcee/DJ Ohkang, one half of the duo Blackreign and Ohkang. Ohkang’s soulful production is heavily influenced by his love of jazz, soul, and Detroit flavor.
“Occam’s Razor” also features the talents of Netherlands based emcee/singer Gregg Green who lends his skilled politically potent and personal lyrics on four tracks.
The album blends socially conscious lyrics with clever word play over poignant boom bap production.
Pimpernel Jones adds his signature cuts and scratches and also engineered the project.
