Veteran Chicago MC Gilead7, hailing from the edges of Progressive Rap as a member of the prolific and revered collective Tomorrow Kings (SKECH185, Jyroscope, IL. Subliminal, etc.), presents It’s That Last Finish First: Seldom to Never Heard Rarities. This rerelease is on the backdrop of Gilead’s extremely well-received 2023 vinyl project entitled ArtSpace with producer Boricua Sandy under the crew name “VirgoTwins” on Germany’s Expanded Art Records, coupled with a West Coast to East Coast tour for the duo in the summer of 2023 and a G7 solo Germany tour in the summer of 2024 and quality coverage in the Chicago Sun-Times, Flood Magazine, The Chicago Reader, Paste Magazine, etc. It’s That Last Finish First is a collection of vintage tracks from as early as 2008 and as late as 2024 that showed up in obscure patches of Soundcloud and Bandcamp (“Slow,” “Confidence RMX,” “Forest Fight,” “Tally,” “Search2Build”), circulated amongst fellow artists and rumored about in the late 2000s Chicago underground (“Aqua Efficient”), began as ideas in the late 2000s but weren’t finished until last year (“UnPresidented,” “Magra,” “Astro”) or never heard at all (“Jazz u Novem Sarajevo RMX”). This potent non-chronological collage hosts a stellar cast of vocal guests such as Jurny Big (Tunnel Rats/LPG), Collasoul Structure (Jyroscope/Tomorrow Kings), Queen Herawin (Juggaknots), Roughneck Jihad (Third Sight), The Word Man (Echoes of Oratory Muzik/Crop Circles 720), SILIS101 (Centric I.E./Nacrobats) and ILLOGIC (Blueprint and Illogic/GreenHouse).With production by Tall Black Guy, Memo (Molemen), Analog(ue) Tape Dispenser (War Church/R.A.P.
