London-bred emcee Imaginary Friend and half German/UK battle rapper JollyJay join forces in Berlin for ear-sight’s latest release, ‘Buena Vista Social Anxiety Club’, a tripped out medley of slapstick punchlines and melancholic odes over sample-heavy beats. The loop villain DJ Paid Holidays handles most of the production, with help from Donnie Moustaki, Upper Class and Svumato.
Rainy Berlin’s a long way from the streets of Havana, however a few cheap cigars were repurposed in the making of the ‘Buena Vista Social Anxiety Club’. Become a club member by soaking in all 7 tunes on the EP. That’s all it takes.
Doobie Island has dropped today on bandcamp and all streaming platforms, Flying Saucer feat. Nelson Dialect will touch down on the 4th of January and the rest of the EP land on the 18th of January.
