NazareN – In The Time of Raw

I thought long and hard about what I wanted to write to describe this body of work you are enjoying or hating right now. I thought maybe have an AI write the description, but I knew I wouldn’t forgive myself for doing something like that, and so here we are. This next statement is going to sound very cliche, but the album you are listening to is much more than just music or a music album, let me explain. This spiritual journey you have embarked on started on February 24th, 2022. Most of you know that was the day a war broke out in Ukraine, a place where I was born and raised. I cannot explain to anyone that hasn’t lived through something like this what it feels like to wake up and see the home and the people that you know and love being bombed in real time, and it’s not a movie. Two songs on this project were written that same day. The next vital point of this album happened on December 30th, 2022, and that was the day I lost my father. We had as super hard a relationship as it is, but to see him go the way that he did in front of my eyes had a huge impact on me. I’m not sure if I have still dealt with it fully, and it’s about to be two years since that happened. The third and not by any means final pivotal moment of this project was when mine and our paths crossed with Spencer Reese, and I discovered for myself and for the whole world the musical talent and genius of Spencer Reese’s R&B vocals that I am sure you will be loving on most of these tracks. Spencer Reese is also the engineer behind this project. Around all of this madness and beauty that came out to be “In the Time of Raw” LP, my closest homie, my partner in rhyme, the love of all my lives, were right there with me, so shout out to none other than Romaniya Poet. My gorgeous wife and poet is also releasing her second edition to the “Journey series” books, a book called “Goddess Journey,” and I couldn’t be more proud. My amazing mother, my partner Daniel, and all of you were here every step of the way, and this album is very much yours as it is mine. And on top of all of this, God allowed us to be here to share this moment, and maybe some of these songs will become a playlist of your life as they have become mine throughout the process of birthing it. I also wanted not to forget and shout out a super talented producer that has become a brother, whose instrumentals were mostly the canvas for me to paint for this album @GRISELDABEATSem.asaint .
