This remastered edition features all star guests Chuck D, DMC, DJ Lord and many others. After our original distributor colossally botched the release of what was supposed to be our break thru album (Slave Education) in 2004, The Impossebulls soldiered on with live shows, one off digital singles, side projects, and life related things that had no bearing on music. Although we talked about recording a follow up album (attempts were made) nothing actually transpired. Even though we were still friends, some people bowed out of the group. But the one guy who always carried the torch for The Bulls, carried it higher than any of the rest of us would, was Marcus J. There was never any doubt who the heart of the group was and Marcus wore that badge proudly. In 2009, at my wedding reception, Marcus told me a story about some software he had to use at his day job. Evidently they had upgraded said software but they didn’t fix any of the nagging issues that Marcus had with its performance. When the programmers reached out to get his thoughts on the updates he wrote back: everything has changed, nothing is different. And then he said to me, “that would make a great album title.” It took us another five years before we actually recorded anything, marking a ten year gap between albums. All of that time off must’ve helped though because when we finally decided we were going to create a new album we really went all in. There are some people that say this album is our best. I can’t say that myself but I do know, revisiting it again for it’s 10th anniversary, that there isn’t much I would change about it. Marcus unexpectedly passed away in 2019. I can’t imagine continuing on with The Impossebulls without him but I also know that he’d be pissed if I didn’t. So as I try to figure out what comes next for “the world’s first virtual rapp squad” I will continue to celebrate the music we created and the great times we had doing it.
