Quand la musique puissamment cinématographique d’un beatmaker, passé maître dans l’art de brouiller les repères stylistiques, rencontre un ensemble classique dirigé par une jeune cheffe férue de croisements artistiques et défendant une vision ouverte et actuelle de l’orchestre… L’aventure Degiheugi Orchestra s’impose comme une évidence : l’électro hip hop instrumental du producteur convoque depuis toujours des sonorités orchestrales : cordes classieuses, cuivres éclatants et flûtes virevoltantes se mêlent aux beats et samples millésimés de cet orfèvre au groove immédiatement identifiable. Musicien (Le Peuple de l’herbe, L’Entourloop…) et compositeur fondu de hip hop comme de musique symphonique, Sébastien Blanchon s’est vu confier la stimulante mission d’arranger quelque 14 pépites du répertoire de Degiheugi pour leur conférer une nouvelle dimension. Une relecture grand format embarquant 16 musiciens de l’Ensemble Instrumental de la Mayenne, pour une odyssée électro-symphonique où, comme chez Lalo Schiffrin ou François de Roubaix, violons romantiques filtrent sans complexe avec guitare wah wah et basse funky ! 
From 2001, Degiheugi (D.J.E.J) consumed LPs and made the decks roar in a rap band. But the sphere of classical hip-hop quickly becomes cramped to handle the influx of ideas endlessly irrigating its right hemisphere. Collector of sounds, explorer of the ideal sample, Degiheugi sets off to unearth still raw nuggets, slumbering in the abysses of the internet and under the dust of vinyls marking the past decades. He is reinventing the art of fusing these sound particles to give them a second life with atomic radiation. Impregnated with 5-star featurings and beats with a goldsmith’s groove, these dazzling patchworks expand the magnetic field of trip-hop codes, and reveal chemically pure music, full of soul reflections, electronic spleen and melodic flashes. After 8 essential albums and 2 EPs, all celebrated by the growing ranks of his followers, this shadowy beatmaker took the stage in 2015. From Europe to Australia, from DJ Shadow’s opening acts to joint stages with Chill Bump, Smokey Joe & the Kid or ProleteR, his performances combine sound and video for a powerful and immersive live experience. On April 23, 2021, Degiheugi present his 8th album “Foreglow”with multiple influences, ranging from samba to Afrobeat through soul and French chanson. After having reissued on vinyl the 8 albums composing his discography, French beatmaker Degiheugi presents his new project “Remixed Treasures” on April 21, 2023. It is the first remixed album in the producer’s career. A project that bears its name well. Like seabed adventurers, the remixers have been asked to rework in their own way some of the most significant tracks of a career spanning more than 20 years. Starring L’Orange, Moderator, Souleance, iZem, The Architect, Senbei, Al Tarba, Mounika, DJ Vadim, La Fine Equipe, Kognitif, ProleteR and Scratch Bandits Crew, the XXL cast of this impressive crossover melts genres (hip-hop, electro, ambient, drum & bass, jazz…) and brings together no less than 13 beatmakers from different scenes and generations. #Degiheugi #Forever #DegiheugiOrchestra
